Future Fields is a professional recording studio & music collective in downtown Burlington, VT.
We offer high-end audio services in a relaxing, supportive environment to help you make music and spoken word of the highest quality. We are home to a number of in-house professionals specializing in recording, producing, mixing, mastering, video, and more.
We have a variety of studio spaces for different functions, all decorated with beautiful vintage furniture and art, available for rental as well as staffed recording.
Past musical clients include Noah Kahan, Bela Fleck, Adrianne Lenker, Caroline Rose, Henry Jamison, Madaila, Moon Hooch, Mihali, Ryan Miller, and many more.
Past voice work clients include Miramax, Amazon, Harper Collins, Apple TV, NBC Sports, and The BBC.
Future Fields also hosts & participates in a range of community programming, in support of our mission to nurture artistic connection across age and identity. These programs place an emphasis on empowering those traditionally marginalized in the arts.
Our producers, engineers, & musicians have expertise spanning from classical to jazz, to indie, to rap, to metal. As musicians first, Future Fields staff take a big-picture approach to helping our clients through various stages of the creative process.
We’re experienced in the world of dialog, with a number of sound stages geared towards podcasting; audio book production; ADR; voice-over; and more! We offer remote tape sync service; Source Connect connectivity; & have directing experience.
We offer curated studio spaces for rent for musicians and artists of all types, and offer scholarship funding as part of our artist residency program, for those who could benefit from a creative space but do not have the means.
Our community programming includes a residency program ; a vibrant internship program ; school programs with students grades 6-12 ; and more !
Future Fields is home to a number of professional engineers, musicians, & producers interested in a wide spectrum of music, including Eric B. Maier, Walker Allen, Dan Rome, Ian Steinberg, Christie Woods Lucas, Phil Cohen & more!
Our studios runs DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton; and utilizes both in-the-box and outboard solutions.
Future Fields has a large collection of dynamic, condenser, & ribbon microphones, both modern and vintage, from companies including Coles, Schoeps, Peluso, AKG, Royer, Sennheiser, Shure & more.
We have a wide range of clean and colorful hardware options for amplification, equalization and dynamics, including a fully-modded Yamaha M1516 console with API-style EQ; 8 channels of Neve 1073; 1176 compressors and outboard compression from TK Audio, Retro & more.
We utilize the full digital package from our local friends & supporters, Soundtoys; full plugin package from FabFilter; full package from Plugin Alliance; full package from iZotope; full Goodhertz; full Kush; and more!
We run a Hearback system with custom monitor mixers for each musician.
Future Fields has an unnecessary number of acoustic pianos, including two vintage Steinway uprights, a Yamaha U-series upright, and a Chickering Baby Grand.
We have an unnecessary number of electric guitars, acoustic guitars, basses, and tube amps.
We have an unnecessary number of synthesizers, including Junos, Moogs, Korgs, and more.

We have a number of vintage tape machines, including an excellent 1/2” Otari 8-track.
